Join Us at Dastaan for Our Next Fan Addicts Dining Club!
After a few month’s hiatus, the Beijinger’s Fan Addicts Dining Club is back for another food adventure Friday, Aug 5!
But what is Fan Addicts? A play on the Chinese word fan (meaning “rice” or “meal”) and the English “fanatic”, Fan Addicts is our latest foray into the world of food. It’s a club for foodies in the city who want to take their taste buds on culinary journeys around the world – all in the heart of the Chinese capital.

Our first foray into the wide world of food took place at Georgia’s Feast in March, now we’ll be headed to India with help from Dastaan Indian Restaurant.
Expect a plethora of special curries
This Indian eatery in the heart of Sanlitun is known not only for its weekly brunches but also its diverse seasonal offerings and takes on regional Indian dishes brought to the table by head chef and owner Sk Rabiul Baksh. The Kolkata native got his start as Indian sous chef at the Hyatt Regency Beijing Wangjing, and this experience led him to eventually open Dastaan in early 2022.
Now guests at our next Fan Addicts meet up on Friday, August 5 will have the chance to try the above dishes and more as part of a five course menu (check it out below) that'll feature a few more special dishes. These include some of Chef Rabiul's specialties, like Chettinadu kozhi Tikka (chicken thigh meat marinated in homemade chettinadu masala), and Harimirch Dhaniya ka Scallop (chili coriander spiced tandoori scallop with peach chutney).
And grilled meat like the Chettinadu Chicken Tikka, a special tikka dish not found at any other Indian restaurant in China
These include Aloo Nazakat (potatoes stuffed with cottage cheese, veggies, and topped with onion gravy) and a few fusion dishes, like cumin tempura mushrooms with Achari mayo and "Naan Bruschetta" -- a take on the classic Italian snack featuring naan bread topped with cherry tomatoes, chopped garlic, cheese and drizzled with olive oil.
It’s not just food and drink to be had – but fun as well.
Throughout the night there will be Indian dancing, DIY henna art, panipuri cooking show -- street food done live! --, and the chance to win prizes by participating in a special quiz.
The prizes on offer? B-52 shots!
